![]() ![]() And Dane realizes that Larsen is the kind of girl that he could spend forever with. But as the two spend more time together – in AND out of the supply closet – Larsen realizes that Dane is a better guy than she gave him credit for. Dane is a good time guy who doesn’t see himself ever being in a relationship, so he’s the perfect guy for the job – especially since Larsen and Dane seem to have the kind of chemistry that’s impossible to ignore. So when a hot new security guard starts work at the hospital, Larsen’s friends suggest that she have a little no strings fun. She’s always had an uptight, buttoned up personality, but the stress of Larsen’s job is getting to her these days. The story follows Larsen, a psychiatrist who could use a little stress relief. It’s an unexpected mix that kept me hooked from start to finish. He’s the perfect combination of gruff and alpha paired with swoony and thoughtful. These two have some serious chemistry from the start, and I loved watching the sexy security guard get in over his head. After reading Washed Up, I was excited to read Dane’s story, because I could just tell that the good time guy was going to fall hard – and he definitely does. ![]() She’s taken the heat up a notch with this one, leading with the lust before slowly simmering into love. ![]() Easily my new favorite from Rae, this was chemistry-filled and STEAMY, with great banter and a lighthearted, playful feel. ![]()

(That "has the power of the sun" thing does feel a bit too Grisha-verse in action.) Of course, they move from allies/enemies to lovers, forming an unlikely thrupple as they confront the mystery of a strange disease that is refashioning vampires and their victims into nearly unkillable, mindless monstrosities. The premise works: the last scion of a famed and feared house of noble vampire hunters finds himself paired with a seductive ancient vampire and his kindly, solar-empowered vampire fiancée. The action in the novel feels quite Castlevania-esque, but the characters, plot, and worldbuilding do not.
